She worries she is not worthy of them more than the normal teenagers, and that mostly has to do with the things she went through. She worries she'll lose one of them (especially her dad) again. Poseidon, the king of the seas gets furious with Emily's finding and exiles her to a place far, far away, while at the same time throwing her a curse.Įmily's relationship with her parents is explained. It focuses on a mysteriously beautiful diamond ring Emily finds one day close to her ship, and realizes she can't take it off her finger. Unlike the others that have the occasional laugh or the lighting of the atmosphere, this one is purely made of action, worries and Emily's doubts that are deeper than the ocean itself. ![]() There are reasons this book is my favorite in the series, although I love it as a whole. And they will forever symbolize true love and its power against every bad thing And they will be worn only by a man from the sea and a woman from the earth, or the child that will exist from such a couple. ![]() When these two rings connect, every action that was a product of anger or hate will cease to exist. 5/5 stars of course (and so far my favorite in the series) ![]()

The historical context of the 1911 cholera epidemic in Italy is indeed significant in the contextualization and the production of the text. Thomas Mann wasn’t factually and historically incorrect when recording the presence of an “Asiatic cholera” originating from India in 1912 in his novella. I especially enjoyed her voices for Mma Ramotswe and the others. ![]() This was an audio book, and I very much enjoyed the narrator, Adjoah, Andoh - she was great. She was right - music did make a difference, and in more ways than one. The last is a longer one, which took place in Suffolk, England, during WW2, about a woman who begins a small community orchestra to cheer things up. The other four stories in this small book are not about Mma Ramotswe, and I didn't enjoy them as much. It's just a simple side-story to the main series - pleasant, but nothing more. This is an entertaining short story, with the usual cast, but I have to admit I guessed the result almost immediately. The basics of the criminal investigation are the same in Botswana as Hollywood. and if she can't find out who is benefiting from this bad playing, nobody will.
